RL78/G13 XCIN oscillation circuit and recommended load capacitance
For RL78/G13 group
XT1 oscillation circuit has the function (via software) to select the XT1 oscillation mode.
The XT1 oscillation mode can be switched over just one time among normal oscillation (Normal), low consumption oscillation (Low), and "Ultra-low consumption oscillation" mode (U-Low).

RL78 Family Information
Achieves the industry's lowest class low power consumption
♦ At normal operation: 70 μA/MHz operating current
♦ At clock operation: 0.7 μA (32.768 kHz, RTC + LVD)
♦ STOP current: 1/10 (one-tenth) that of previous Renesas products (WDT + LVD)
Inherits the excellent technologies of the 78K and R8C, enabling effective use of software resources
The CPU core of the new RL78 Family is based on the 78K0R CPU, with even higher performance and lower power consumption.
The RL78 incorporates a large variety of peripheral functions from the 78K and R8C with proven results in a variety of implementations, so software resources that were used with previous 78K and R8C products can be reused effectively.
♦ RL78/G13, G12 Group: Incorporates peripheral functions from 78K0R
♦ Products planned for development: Plan to incorporate peripheral functions from R8C
Moving forward, Renesas Electronics will enrich the RL78 Family lineup as a core product for reducing system power and cost in all segments including consumer electronics, industrial equipment, automotive, and computing and peripherals.
