Entering the 1970s, dawn of the electronic-age provoked keen competition in the watch industry. SII, therefore, tapped into new business fields using precision technology know-how on a parallel with streamlined production and the development of new watches.
Along with the business environment changed due to saturation of the watch market in the 1980s, SII focused on information equipment and electronic components to increase their sales; it strived for diversification strategy to achieve a new leap as a general mechatronics company

Produced the nation’s first computer-aided drafting machine (1970)

Exhibited the products at the overseas industrial robot exposition (the 1980s)

A newspaper advertising the change of company name (1983)

The world’s first watch featuring computer functions "UC-2000 Ude-Com: Wrist-Computer" (1984)
