The S-882Z Series, only 2.9mmx1.6mm, uses fully-depleted SOI (Silicon on Insulator) technology and is the world's first to achieve operation at the ultra low voltage of 0.3V.
Unlike conventional charge pump ICs, this series is a new type of power supply IC design that is used to start up a step-up DC-DC converter.
Using low voltage power below 0.9V was conventionally difficult, but low voltage power can be effectively utilized by combining this IC and a step-up DC-DC converter.
