SII NanoTechnology Establishes a Wholly-owned US Subsidiary

SII NanoTechnology Inc., a subsidiary of Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII), announced today that it has established a 100%-owned subsidiary SII NanoTechnology USA Inc. in Northridge, CA, USA. The subsidiary which commences operations in the US on November 1, 2005, is responsible for the development, production, sales and service/support of products of SII NanoTechnology such as measurement and analysis instruments.

SII NanoTechnology USA Inc. will integrate and consolidate the function of SII NanoTechnology’s USA Technical Support Center in San Ramon, CA, USA, founded in May 2005, and continues the support of distribution channels for existing products line-up covering such measurement and analysis instruments as focused-ion beam systems and fluorescent X-ray analyzers, as well as application support and maintenance service.

The establishment of SII NanoTechnology USA Inc. allows SII NanoTechnology to provide better service and support to customers and grow all aspects of the business in the US.
