Episode 2  Catch Up to Switzerland, Climb Up to the Top of the World


The goals subsequent to the recovery from the war were to catch up to Switzerland and to climb up to the Top of the World. Alongside the introduction of modern technology, production innovation in originally designed processing machines and the development of materials were promoted. These milestones enabled mass production of mechanical watches with both precision and reliable stability meeting international standards. In 1970 as well, the world’s first quartz watch that incorporated CMOS IC was originated and it started to dominate the global market.
