What is TNS ALLOY?

TNS Alloy is an advanced metallic material composed of titanium (Ti), niobium (Nb), and tin (Sn), developed by Professor Emeritus Hanada of the Institute for Materials Research at Tohoku University. It offers excellent biocompatibility, and its properties—such as high strength, low modulus, high ductility, and superior corrosion resistance—can be optimized for specific applications through precise control of alloy composition as well as processing and heat treatment conditions.

Its lightweight, nickel-free composition and low Young’s modulus help reduce the burden on the human body, making it highly suitable for biomedical applications.
It is expected to find wide-ranging applications, including orthopedic implants, corrosion-resistant precision components, and medical precision parts.
